It was co-written by Preston \"P-Funk\" Middleton, Zan, and Parliament-Funkadelic's George Clinton while co-production was between Middleton and Zan, both of whom also played the instruments, and the latter also provided the overdubs. With the beat being reminiscent of that from \"Atomic Dog\", the song is very clearly influenced by Clinton. As mentioned on the single's cover, an album titled A Legend Is Born, was intended to be released as well initially. But for some reason, it ended up being withheld and shelved, for some reason, instead.
